Kinsmen Swimming Pool

 

Swan River Parks & Recreation office (734-4141) oversees the operations of the following facilities:

Centennial Arena
The arena is a bustling centre with figure skating, public skating, and hockey for all ages - including the local AA Junior Hockey team, Swan Valley Stampeders. During the spring and fall seasons, it hosts a variety of events such as the Rotary Market Fest tradeshow and the Taylor School Fun Festival.

Outdoor rink as well.

Veterans Community Hall
The Veterans Community Hall is located on 6th Avenue North it is used for meetings,functions and weddings, for bookings and more information please contact the hall manager, Greg Hagman at 204-734-2285 or 204-281-4423

Swimming Pool
The Swan River Kinsmen Pool is an outdoor, junior size Olympic pool offering recreational swimming and qualified instruction.

Ball Diamonds
Located in the beautiful Legion Park are three ball diamonds, one lit for night-time play. Other diamonds are found at schools in the community.

Rotary Fields Sports Park
Newly opened in 2008, this field on the south part of Town accomodates three soccer pitches as well as the newly completed Orville Minish Field hardball.

Parks
The largest park is the Legion Park which is bordered by the meandering Swan River. For more more information, click the Parks and Playgrounds link on the left.


Other facilities in the Town or in the local area are:

Swan River Curling Club
Six-sheets of ice are busy with youth, women, men and mixed league play. A viewing area, lounge and food services provide for the needs of both curlers and spectators.

Swan River Golf & Country Club
An excellent walking course featuring grass greens, watered fairways, a pro shop and a licensed dining room. Expansion to an eighteen-hole course is currently underway.

Thunderhill Ski Area Inc.  www.skithunderhill.ca
Located on Thunder Hill, the ski chalet and down-hill runs are enjoyed by skiers and snowboarders. In the summer, the numerous trails are used by Tread the Thunder mountain bike club.
